Tutor Responsibilities

As a tutor with THE 302 TUTOR, you will play an important role in supporting students’ academic growth, confidence, and overall well-being. Tutors are expected to:

Instruction & Planning

Provide engaging, personalized instruction in reading, writing, math, and other academic areas for students in grades K–5 and above.
Incorporate game-based learning, hands-on activities, and creative strategies to make lessons fun and effective.
Adapt lessons to meet the needs, skill levels, and learning styles of individual students.
Prepare and bring necessary materials/resources for each session.

Professionalism & Communication

Drive to tutoring sessions and arrive on time, prepared, and ready to work with students.
Maintain clear, professional communication with families and with THE 302 TUTOR team.
Provide brief progress updates to parents/guardians after each session.
Uphold a professional appearance and demeanor during sessions.

Student Support

Encourage a positive learning environment that builds confidence, resilience, and perseverance.
Support both academic growth and social-emotional learning to foster a strong growth mindset.
Model patience, kindness, and encouragement in every interaction.

Collaboration & Community

Participate in THE 302 TUTOR community of educators, where tutors share ideas, lesson resources, and effective tutoring routines.
Contribute to a culture of collaboration and continuous growth.

Company Standards

Represent THE 302 TUTOR brand and values at all times.
Protect student confidentiality and handle all information responsibly.
Follow company policies, including social media and code of conduct guidelines.
Be flexible with scheduling and communicate promptly about availability or conflicts.

Compensation & Payment

Tutors are compensated at a rate of $50 per hour for all 1:1 tutoring sessions.
Payments are disbursed on a weekly basis.
All tutors are classified as independent contractors (1099).

Code of Conduct Policy

At THE 302 TUTOR, we believe in creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment for all students, families, and educators. As representatives of our company, all tutors are expected to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and respect.

Every student, family, and colleague will be treated with dignity, respect, and fairness.
Tutors are expected to create an environment that celebrates diversity and fosters belonging.

Professional Conduct

Tutors will maintain professionalism in all interactions with students, families, and colleagues.
Personal beliefs (political, religious, or otherwise) must not interfere with instruction or relationships with students and families.
Tutors are expected to resolve disagreements respectfully and avoid confrontational behavior.

Online & Social Media Conduct

Tutors must represent THE 302 TUTOR positively in online spaces.
Confrontational posts that promote hate, discrimination, or divisive rhetoric (including political or religious hate speech) are not permitted.
Tutors are encouraged to use social media responsibly and in alignment with the values of inclusivity, respect, and professionalism.

Commitment to Community

Our work serves all members of our community. Tutors are expected to support and empower every learner and family who chooses THE 302 TUTOR.
Collaboration and open-mindedness are essential to maintaining a safe and supportive learning community.

Accountability

Any violation of this Code of Conduct will be taken seriously and may result in corrective action, up to and including termination of the tutoring agreement.
Tutors are encouraged to speak with leadership if they have concerns, questions, or need guidance in upholding this policy.
